Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Police stated they were alerted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state initial examinations show the liquid was probably human blood.

"At present there remains no clue as to its source; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for details.

An important official commented the incident left him without words and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
